Board President – Deanna Meyer
Deanna is a long time environmental activist. Born and raised in Colorado, she gained a deep appreciation for the land and living communities and recognized that everyone she loved was under attack. In 2015, she began her fight for prairie dog colonies up and down the Front Range as she launched a campaign to protect a large prairie dog colony from extermination in Castle Rock. She has been campaigning and advocating for numerous colonies and prairie communities ever since and intends to do whatever it takes to save this keystone species and the communties they support.
Kolibri terre Sonnenblume – Prairie Protection Board
Kollibri terre Sonnenblume is a tree hugger, animal lover, all-around biophile, and author of several books on the intersections of ecology and human culture.
Nikki Hill – Prairie Protection Board
Nikki holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and botany and started her biophilic journey with a focus on ecological restoration. Seed enchantment and the desire to foster direct connection to landscapes birthed a grass roots seed and herb company called Daggawalla, and she has been an enthusiastic seed-bearing human ever since.
Michaela Hinnerman – Prairie Protection Board
Michelle is a passionate animal advocate that has been with Prairie Protection since it’s early days.
Heather Valey – Communications
Heather Valey has a bachelors degree in Technical Communications and a Masters Certificate in Conservation Communications. She’s a conservation photographer, writer and certified Master Naturalist.
Michael Brandana – Legal Team
Mr. Frandina’s litigation practice includes representing clients in environmental, tribal and natural resource practice areas, as well as litigating general civil matters such as breach of contract and other business claims, health and employment law matters, and regulatory issues. He is also committed to representing pro bono clients. Mr. Frandina is authorized to practice law in Colorado and New York.
