MASCOT
Born and raised on the shortgrass prairie, this dedicated team member has spent a lifetime creating homes for wildlife, enriching soils, feeding predators, and helping entire ecosystems thrive. Lierre Keith
BOARD MEMBER
Lierre Keith is the author of seven books, including The Vegetarian Myth: Food, Justice, and Sustainability, which has been called “the most important ecological book of this generation.” She is coauthor, with Derrick Jensen and Max Wilbert, of Bright Green Lies: How the Environmental Movement Lost Its Way and What We Can Do About It. Dave Ruane
BOARD MEMBER Born/raised in the Midwest, Dave has always been fascinated with wildlife and wild places. With a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Iowa State University, and a passion for all creatures great and small, he continues to learn more through his regular forays into the backcountry as an outdoorsman, naturalist and all-round nature enthusiast. Dave has especially enjoyed wildlife photography via trail cameras and combined with camping, hunting, fishing and wildlife/bird-watching, is never bored!
Dave is an empty-nester residing in somewhat rural Weld county with his wife, 3 dogs and a small flock of chickens. He has enjoyed watching a Prairie Dog town form from no known individuals to hundreds in the past 15 years less than a mile from his home, but understands the oft-hostile survival these keystone species face due to ignorance and sprawl.
