Prairie Dog Protections
We educate communities about the vital role prairie dogs play as a keystone species in Colorado’s grasslands; supporting healthy soils, diverse plants, insects, and the entire biotic community. Despite ongoing mass poisoning and habitat destruction, we push for strong protections that prioritize habitat preservation.

Myth Busting
Prairie dogs are victims of harmful myths: they do not spread plague to humans, do not cause livestock to break legs, and do not destroy grasslands. In reality, they enhance perennial plants, aerate the soil, improve moisture retention, and serve as a vital keystone species. They are essential to the health of Colorado’s biotic communities.
